The OEM engine cover designed by Fiat has an incorporated factory airbox housed within the cover itself. This meant for many people, upgrading their induction kit would result in completely removing your engine cover.
Now, with the release of our carbon fibre engine cover, FMEC4, Abarth owners can enjoy the power and performance of improved induction without having to sacrifice the aesthetic appearance of their engine bay! We designed our engine cover to fit perfectly alongside our induction kit FMINDF500, purposefully using carbon fibre as the material to compliment the carbon fibre canister of the induction kit.
As this was specifically designed to fit alongside FMINDF500 we do not recommend, nor can we confirm fitment in conjunction with alterative aftermarket or OEM induction kits.
3D scans of an Abarth 595 with FMINDF500 installed were used to help develop this design. We used influence from the design of the original engine cover, so that FMEC4 will really compliment the aesthetics of the engine bay. Once the design was developed, we 3D printed a first prototype on our Formlabs Form 3L.
The carbon fibre really helps to give the engine bay some character, blending in nicely with the carbon cannister of the Forge Motorsport induction kit. The high-quality carbon fibre is prepreg 2×2 twill formed in an autoclave from billet tooling and finished with an anti UV gloss gel coat. The Forge Motorsport lifetime warranty on all hardware products shows the trust we have in the quality of our products while they are being enjoyed on your pride and joy.
The kit comes complete with everything you need for installation. Fitting can be carried out in around 1 hour and includes a set of full instructions.
